Update!

So I've been very MIA these past couple of weeks. I've been very busy getting ready for the holidays because I have such a huge family! Now that Christmas has passed I will have more time on my hands and I have many new ideas for videos and blog posts. It will also be much much easier for me to film and edit since my GREAT SUPPORTIVE husband bought me a brand new CAMERA!! I'm super excited to make new content and share with everyone my tips sand ideas! I appreciate the support and I know I am just starting out and a small account but I truly love doing this. Make up is a way for me to distract myself and really relax from my personal feelings and issues. So thanks to all who enjoy spending a little time of their day with me! (:

Fall Look Book 2015

So I Decided to make this Fall look for you guys because these are one of my favorites videos to watch. I love seeing how other people put together outfits to use as inspiration. Remember me saying on my last post about my wardrobe being 95% black and grey? Well the other 3% is probably white and various other dark colors.

For the first look,

I put together something that was comfortable to wear but still looked very put together. I paired a baggy grey long sleeve top with leggings. (leggings are THE BEST!) Since the bottom sides of the top had high cuts, I wore a white camisole underneath. To make the look feel more like fall I wore these awesome riding boots I found at Marshalls. What made these boots stand out was that they are meant for people with larger calves. I have pretty average calves but these are great when you want to wear boots with some cute chunky leg warmers. For jewelry I wore a chocker just to give it a bit of an edgier look.

Second Look

For this I put something a little dressier but still very comfortable. I wore I grey turtle neck and high waisted jeans and some BEAUTIFUL little booties from Guess. To accessorize I wore I big chunky purple scarf and a long dangly necklace underneath. this look is great of you're going out for a date night or any occasion where you might need to dress up. aside form this being a very cute outfit it is very cozy and warm.

Third Look

Here I wanted to put together something I wear often when on outings with my family. I wore I long cardigan and underneath I wore I light pink basic tee from Forever 21. Again I paired this look with blue jeans and a little booties. Thus time the booties did not have a heel. These are actually my favorite boots. I received them as a gift from my brother and these are the most comfortable boots I own! the are convers booties so they feel just like the sneaker. this look I great because of the comfort and style.

Fourth Look

So for the fourth and final look I wanted a look that was "cool" lol. I wanted something that was very easy to throw on an run out of the house. This would be something I wear on a day of running errands with my girls. I wore a white cami with a grey jacket over it and some jeans. For shoes I wore my, surprise, grey converse sneakers. It is such an awesome casual, street style look with minimal effort.

I will leave here the link to the video! Make sure to give it a thumbs up and comment any other thing you would like to see from me!
Thanks DR❥

Fall Look

It is no secret I love dark colors! My wardrobe is 95% black and grey so its no surprise fall is my favorite time of year for makeup. Its the time of year I get to play with blacks, burgundies and all of those beautiful fall colors. I have put together this tutorial on my FAVORITE look for fall.

This look is probably over used by me but I LOVE it I love the dark colors on the eyes and the neutral lips. (Granted my lip color choice is almost always the same color, or atleast in the same spectrum.. NUDE! I blame my brother for it cause when I first began wearing lipstick was when I purchased my first high end lip product. I bought the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella in a Sephora in Kansas City while on a trip with my husband. I wore that lipstick every time I got the chance. One Sunday morning over posole with the family he made a rude comment as to why I always wear red. Since that day I try to resist from reds and only wear them for special occasions. He has yet ta make a comment on the nudes.)

ANYWAYS got way off topic..  This look can be worn in the day time if instead of black shadow on your lid, you wear a soft brown. I would think it is easier to use black liner for all over the lid for application of this look such as NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean and just set with black powder. For this look I used NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk so I could pack on the black shadow. The Naked Basics palette is pigmented enough but I need the exrta help the Jumbo pencil provided.

I did I full face tutorial and I will list the products I used.

Face
*NYX Photo Loving Primer Anti Redness
*Revlon Color Stay Whipped 24hrs in Medium Beige
*NYX HD Concealer in CW02
*NYX Wonder Stick
*Wet n Wild Contouring Palette in Caramel Toffee
*Elf Blush in Candid Coral (BTW I lost the part of the footage while filming and didn't notice till I had already uploaded D:)
*Becca Jacklyn Hill trio palette "Champagne Pop" and "Pearl

Eye Brows
*Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown

Eyes
*Elf Eyeshadow Lock Primer
*NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
*Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette color "Crave"
*NYX Love in Paris Palette Mercibeaucoup
*Revlon Define Lashes in D20
*NYX Tres Jolie Gel Liner
*Elf Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara

Lips
*Rimmel London lip pencil in Addiction
*Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color in Fashion Darling

As you can see, this look is mainly drug store products so it is very affordable. I hope you guys Enjoyed this! Please be sure to subscribe and give this video a thumbs up!

Everyday Make Up For Hooded Eyes

I know that for a lot of people with hooded eyes it is hard to wear eye shadow. I know, because I have hooded eyes.. and NO it is not a bad thing, but when you wear eye make up on an everyday basis it can be a little troubling to spend so much time on your eyes and no one see it unless you close your eyes or you are looking down. At least that was my issue. For me it took a lot of trial and error on figuring out what looked best on me so I would just love to share my technique on applying a look you can wear on an everyday basis.

This technique can be used with any colors but I am creating a soft everyday look. What I use is the Naked Basics Palette and only used 4 the shades. Before Applying the eye shadow I used a primer to ensure I would not have any creasing and a long lasting finish. After applying the shadow I winged out my eye liner and applied a coat of mascara.

Now the first thing I did after applying the primer was pick up the shade(1) "Naked 2" and applying that all along the crease to use as our transition color using a dense blending brush.
Next I applied the shade(2) "Faint" with a small smudge brush only using the tip for precise application. When applying I look forward and apply the product right above my actual crease. Once I have mapped out where I am going to "create" the illusion of a new crease I blend that out.
Then I take the shade(3) "W.O.S" and apply that on the center of the lid and blend out using an angled blending brush. Finally I use the same brush and apply the shade(4) "Venus" on my  brow bone. Now that I have the product in place I use my fluffy blending brush and blend everything together.

Now my look is complete! I love this for an everyday eye look. It is very soft and you can quickly turn it into a night look by adding the black shade "Crave"  to the outer corner of the eyes and making a sexy smokey eye. This look is great for people with hooded eyes because we are creating an illusion of a higher crease with this technique. That way our makeup doesn't get hidden by the crease in our eye.

This is the final look! Thank you so much for your time and I hope you have learned something new (: Make sure to follow me on instagram @_oohmydarlin

Hard Candy Lipstick in 'Thunder' Review

Lately I've been into BOLD lip colors! On a trip to Wal-Mart I saw This beautiful collection from Hard Candy called "Fierce Effects Lipsticks". They were completely out of all the shades except a hot pink shade called "Provocative" and the purple shade "Thunder". There was one of each left and I had to have the Purple one. I had been on the hunt for an inexpensive lip color in a dark purple shade and when I saw this I knew I had to have it! I had it for about a week and a half until I worked up the courage to wear it. When I put in on I felt some type of way I hadn't felt for a lipstick. The name of the collection says it all cause I really did feel ~fierce~ *hair flip*. Of course my family had things to say about it but they could not change my mind on how I felt about this color! My husband was not a fan but he saw how good it made me feel so he accepted it. My mom is not a fan of dark colors so she was the most persistent that I take it off but there was no way! (sorry mom)
This picture was not edited. Taken in natural light.

When applying this lipstick, it went on so smooth and kept my lips hydrated. It felt like wearing a normal lip balm so it was a weightless feel. I must say that the wear was not very good. I had to reapply several times through out the day. No big deal! BUT, yes there is a but... when I would go to reapply I noticed the color had bled out of my natural lip line and had a smudged effect. All I had to do was use a small concealer brush and a concealer the same shade as my skin tone and clean up the edges. Although that was a hassle that is my only complaint for this drugstore lipstick.

The tubes they come in are very flashy and beautiful. These are great if you display your lipsticks.
The tubes they come in are very flashy and beautiful. These are also great if you display your lipsticks.

Natural Lighting

Direct Sunlight

I would recommend this lipstick if you don't mind fixing the smudging on the outer line of your lips. of course I haven't tried any of the other colors so I cannot speak for those but I defiantly want to try then. As soon as I get my hands on them I will review and swatch again. Thanks!

Make-up Essentials For Beginer to Intermediate

So I know that when I began to really get into make up I didn't know where to begin when it came to the essentials. Did I really need an eye shadow palette with all the colors of the rainbow on it? I didn't want to buy products I would never use. Going into the makeup isle I was overwhelmed by all the choices there were. Of course now I would love to walk out with everything, but as a beginner I had no idea was I was looking for. Ultimately I walked out with a BB Cream, eye shadow and a sheer red lipstick. I came home saw I was missing a few things in order to properly and nicely apply the makeup. So I am here today to share what I know now to properly apply a full face of make up. I will be showing drugstore products because I know that if I didn't really know what I was doing, I wouldn't want to spend $150 plus dollars on make up that could possibly not sit well with my skin. For me trying different types of make up helped me learn what my skin liked and didn't like. Playing with different types of consistency's and finishes will help you get to know your skin.

So here is a list of the basics I use for everyday. The brands you use are completely up to you. I will also be listing the products that I use and why I prefer them.

1. Foundation- This is what you start with because it will be the base of everything else (after moisturizer of course).
* I use Revlon Colorstay whipped because I need full coverage due to acne scars. I know, I know, but not everyone needs full coverage that is why I recommend if you only have little to no impurities I recommend a BB Cream or a liquid foundation.

2. Blush- This will help give color back to your face since we just canceled out all color to get rid of impurities.
* The blush options are endless! My favorite is powdered blush and for my skin tone I love to use coral and hot pink colors. When I do wear hot pink hues I use a light hand because I am pretty fair. My favorites are from elf because they are so inexpensive but the colors are so pretty. The only complaint I do have is that it has a lot of fall out, but once you get the color onto your skin they sit so beautifully. Another is the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. I love the creamy consistency.
3. Brow Kit/Pencil- Brows are what frame your face. So please find a shape that works best for your face shape! I can never say this enough but BROWS ARE IMPORTANT!

*As you can tell I really like elf products! This probably isn't my favorite brow kit but that's probably because I went front this NYX pencil to the Elf Brow Kit to The Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade. But I do think that this is a great starter kit, again because of the price. this will let you learn how to fill in your brows with out worrying about wasting the product. You will not feel guilty about having to wipe off your brows to try again. $3 is easier to let go of than $18!

4. Eyeliner- you can line your eyes or create a sexy cat eye! You can never go wrong with eye liner. Although there is such thing as too much eye liner. Just ask my 8th-9th grade self!
* My absolute favorite drugstore eyeliner is a liquid eyeliner form NYC that comes in a felt tip pen. I ran out so here are some other great options! Again Elf Liquid liner, and a NYX Pencil liner.

5.Mascara- This will help open up your eyes and make you look more awake. But also who doesn't love long eyelashes!
* Usually the most important part of mascara is the wand. The applicator will determine what effect you want on your lases. My go to is this one by Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara.

6.Setting powder- I recommend to set your make up using a translucent powder that will help keep your look last longer
* Any translucent powder does the trick really. I Use Revlon Photoready Translucent powder.

7. Applicators- Equally as important is what you use to apply your make up. Here is a list of my personal favorites!
* A buffing brush is great for an airbrush finished when applying foundation. Sadly I do not own any drug store brushes but this has to be my most expensive brush. I purchased it at Ulta from the "It Brushes for Ulta" Collection. This is the No 110.

*For blush I prefer using the slanted brush. Again it is always preference. All the rest of my brushes are from BH Cosmetics. These are great for beginners and they also inexpensive. My husband bought me a 36 piece set for my birthday a year and a half ago and they are still working perfect!

*If you would prefer to apply with a sponge they also provide an airbrush finish. I also purchased this one from Ulta for $5!

*If you have these small disposable sponges at hand they also work just as well! All you have to do is rip them in half and wet them just as you would a normal beauty blender! Just be sure to use the textured part of the sponge. That would be right where you ripped it. I learned this tip from make up artist Wayne Goss  on YouTube.

*Now it is always important to use an eyelash curler before applying your mascara. This one is from Revlon. But again, any curler does the job!

Now those are my BASIC essentials if you would like to see what I would recommend for a more detailed make up look like for a special event or if you Just want to look more ~GLAM~ please be sure to let me know! Thanks :)

Grilled Chees Special

So I always try to find ways to make something regular into something ~SPECIAL~ I've been making this dish for a couple of years now and my husband and daughter love it! It is a flavorful  twist on your typical grilled cheese sandwich, and I would love to share it with you.
 You will need:
         - One pack of chicken tenderloins
         - Turkey bacon (or regular bacon of your choice)
         - Pepperoni
         - 8 oz. block of mozzarella cheese (or sliced if preferred)
         - Texas toast
         -1/4 Cup Butter
         - 1tbs. Lawry seasoned salt

This will make enough for about 6-7 sandwiches depending on how many tenderloins come in the pack. I usually use one tenderloin per sandwich.

First preheat my oven to 375*F. Then I melt about 1/4th cup of butter in the microwave and add one tablespoon of Lawry Seasoned Salt. Once the butter is all melted and combined with the seasoned salt, I add my chicken and let it marinade while my oven finishes preheating. Next I took my bacon and cut it in half, like so

I then made this little square with the bacon in order for it to fit neatly onto the sandwich. and wrapped it up in foil so that I can cook it in the oven with no mess!

Once the oven is ready I put my chicken and bacon to cook. Chicken I will cook for 20 min and the turkey bacon I will leave for 30 min. Also Keep in mind that regular bacon might not fully cook with these directions. While that is cooking, I take my 8 oz. block of mozzarella cheese and begin making thin slices. Once that is done I will preheat my Presto Griddle to 350* F. You may also use any other nonstick pan on a stovetop and cook on medium to high heat.

Once the chicken is done remove from oven, cut into 4ths and begin to make your grilled cheese. Butter both sides of your Texas toast and place on griddle for a couple of minutes till toasty and flip then add your cheese slices to fully cover the bread, then peperoni about 5 pieces, followed by your chicken and topped of with your bacon. While you are creating you beautifully delicious grilled cheese, make sure you are also letting the other slice of bread fully cook on one side, so when you top your sandwich off you can flip it and cook the other side of that slice... Makes sense? okay!

Once you are done you should have something that looks a little like this...

If you make this dish I would love to know your thoughts! So please leave comments down below.
